Launched in 2007 by 18 women from Nyamirambo to address gender-based violence and create real vocational opportunities, the Center now runs the neighborhood's best-loved tour: a walk through Nyamirambo's hairdressing salons, family compounds and tailor shops, a Kinyarwanda lesson, and a traditional lunch cooked by Aminatha, the Center's best-known cook. Cooking classes and craft workshops run alongside it — every booking funds the co-op directly.
Took the cooking class with three friends and left with a recipe I now make weekly. The guides make you feel like a neighbor, not a tourist — and it's a co-op, so the money stays local.
